Our history
Comunidad MUSAS was founded in 2019 by Monica Trujillo Gongora following her own journey through breast cancer treatment. Inspired by the experiences of her mother and grandmother—both breast cancer survivors—she envisioned an organization dedicated to ensuring that no woman faces cancer alone.
MUSAS is a nonprofit organization that supports women and their families through prevention programs, early diagnosis initiatives, access to medical care, emotional support, and safe housing. We are committed to helping women transform the challenges of a cancer diagnosis into an opportunity for resilience, hope, and renewed purpose.
The name MUSAS reflects our belief that every woman's story has the power to inspire others. We proudly call the women we serve our "Musas" because their strength, courage, and determination encourage other women to prioritize their health and embrace life. This vision is captured in our motto: "Lives That Inspire Life."
Our logo represents the three women whose stories inspired this movement—three generations, three unique journeys, and one shared outcome: survivorship. Together, they symbolize the hope, resilience, and community that define MUSAS.
To empower women to take responsibility for their own health and safety as a priority, fostering transformative behavioral changes that create positive impact across families and communities.
Mission
Vision
To establish a Casa de Bienestar (Wellness House) in every state of Mexico, promoting proactive initiatives that help reduce breast cancer mortality rates and improve the quality of life of women throughout the country.
Our Approach
We believe cancer care extends beyond medical treatment.
That is why we develop programs that promote prevention, facilitate access to specialized care, provide emotional support, and offer safe housing for women who must travel to receive treatment.
Every initiative we lead is designed to improve the experience of women during one of the most challenging moments of their lives.
